Welcome Aeropress

First, I want to draw some attention to Tim Wendelboe and the team who, through many years of hard work and exceptional dedication, have helped Aeropress grow into the symbol it is in Norway and the world today. Team Wendelboe's 20-year journey over the years is impressive and inspiring; all respect and recognition to you! But since TW is discontinuing equipment distribution, I think it's fitting that Typica takes over. Aeropress fits very well into our portfolio :)

We are delighted to offer our customers Aeropress products. This has been requested by many of you for a long time, and now, right before Christmas, it's happening!

Straight to business:
The first thing we expect you to react to is changes in prices. We are aware of this, but give me a few minutes, and I will explain the reasoning behind the price adjustment.
We need to increase the recommended market price so that it reflects Aeropress's own recommendations. Aeropress wants to build its brand; they want to grow as a brand without being confined to being a "plastic gadget" that makes really good coffee. Aeropress sees more value in its products than the market (on an international basis) has set as a price, and they made a major price adjustment a few years ago to try to stabilize the inconsistencies found across markets.

It can be difficult to change the price of such a well-established product as Aeropress, but I believe (and hope) that with your help, we can stand by that decision together. Over time, we have become a large network of coffee equipment retailers, and we have enough influence in the Norwegian market to make this happen. In addition, my impression is that Aeropress itself works extensively with pricing structure, especially in Europe with a lot of parallel imports, cross-border e-commerce, and relatively small markets with many "cooks." It is also necessary to have higher margins at each stage so that we can all demonstrate sustainable operations, and that can only be fixed with a price adjustment.

The plan is to mostly carry Aeropress's full range, with the exception of unbleached filters (if you want unbleached filters, let me know, and I will reconsider the decision).

We received our first pallet of Aeropress today, Friday, December 13th, 11 days before Christmas. We had this delivery flown in hastily to see if we could launch Aeropress Color before Christmas. It's a tight margin, but it's still possible to get goods delivered next week, or alternatively, come and pick them up yourself at our location in Ryen if you are in the area.
Furthermore, the plan is to place a large order as soon as possible so that we can deliver all product lines from February onwards.
If you already know that your Aeropress purchase will be relatively large, feel free to send me some prognoses with quantities so that my job is a bit easier; then I can ensure that everyone who wants Aeropress equipment gets it :)

A slightly stressed but very big greeting from
Anne
